It’s three-for-one day! We are proud to announce that Oakdale, 1959 has been named an official selection in The Smoky Mountain Film Festival 2020 and NewFilmmakers New York! Additionally, we’re a Finalist in the Two Box Film Festival! unfortunately, we will have to withdraw from Smoky Mountain because of a potential conflict with another festival. However, the programmers were incredibly kind and gracious, and we wish them the absolute best!

Official Selection: Wild Bunch Film Festival
We are proud to announce that Stygian has been named an official selection in The Wild Bunch Film Festival 2016. The festival is held in September in Oklahoma and is a Western themed film festival. While we will not be able to attend, we are honored to have been selected as part of the festival.

Official Selection: NewFilmmakers Los Angeles
We are proud to announce that Stygian was named an Official Selection in the New Filmmakers Los Angeles Film Festival. The film will be screening as part of the Shorts 2 Program on July 30, 2016. For information on tickets or the film, see NFLA's website or Facebook. Each month, NFLA highlights new filmmakers and hosts this event so that filmmakers can show off their projects and network.
After the screening, there will be a Q&A session with the filmmakers of the 4 films in the Shorts 2 Program.
We will attending the screening and hopefully give some insightful answers about indie filmmaking, thesis films and making Stygian during the post-screening Q&A.
Official Selection: Trail Dance Film Festival 2016
Stygian was named an official selection in the 2016 Trail Dance Film Festival. The festival is held annually in January in Oklahoma. While we were not able to attend the event, we are proud and honored to have been one of the 131 films accepted.
Trail Dance is hosted by the Trail Dance Film Festival Association and is an open-category film festival. For more information on the 2016 Festival, Stygian, and the other films honored, see their website.
Santa Fe Independent Film Festival Success
Waiting for the show to start.
Stygian premiered on the festival circuit in the New Mexico True Shorts section of the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival to a sold out crowd. A second showing of the shorts that evening (third overall for the festival) was added because of the sell out. The other showings were well-attended and the overall reception of the film was quite positive.

Official Selection: Santa Fe Independent Film Festival
We're proud to announce that Stygian has been accepted to its first film festival!
Stygian is an official selection in the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival. It's premiere will be held at 6:30pm MST on Thursday, October, 15th at the CCA Main Theater in Santa Fe, NM with a second screening the same night at 8:00pm MST and a third screening on Friday, October 16th at 10:00PM MST.
It's being shown as part of the New Mexico True Shorts segment of the festival. These are films that were shot in New Mexico and feature the state at its finest.

Festival Feats for A Song for Manzanar

A Song for Manzanar, a student short film directed by Kazuko Golden and co-written by Josh, continues to do well on the festival circuit. Thus far, it's been accepted into 10 film festivals and has won awards in many of those.
Among those that the film will be screened at or has been screened at are The Women's Independent Film Festival in Los Angeles, the Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival, the California Women's Film Festival in Los Angeles (official selection), the Palm Beach International Film Festival (official entry), the Asians on Film Festival (official selection) in Los Angeles, the 8th Annual WAMM International Film Festival, the Albuquerque Film & Music Experience (official selection), The Maine International Film Festival, The Los Angeles Women's International Film Festival, and the Court Metrage short film corner at Cannes.
The film was well-received at all the festivals it's been shown at and has been awarded laurels. To date, it's received the Audience Choice Award for Best Short Film at the Palm Beach International Film Festival, an honorable mention for Best Song Composition at the Asians on Film Festival, and Best Narrative Short at the Los Angeles Women's International Film Festival. The director was also invited to speak on panels at several of the film festivals and will be traveling to speak at Cannes and at the Albuquerque Film & Music Experience.
